About Octopus¶
Octopus is a scriptable, highly customizable menu system designed to drastically reduce the number of hotkeys you use in your daily work. Its key feature is flexibility: every button and the entire menu structure can be tailored to your needs. You’re not limited to just changing the shape or color of buttons—you can nest multiple menus, use the mouse wheel to switch between primary and secondary menus, and take advantage of various other features that streamline your workflow.
The core strength of Octopus lies in its scripting capabilities. You can enable features like "Hold and Release," and each button supports up to four different interactions: left-click, right-click, and holding either button to use them as two-axis spinners. You can also use the mouse wheel for even more control.
The system can record your most recent actions and replay them with a single hotkey. If you prefer not to click through menus, you can enable Hover/Preview mode, which runs commands instantly when you hover over them—no clicking required. You can also set up custom hotzones for even faster access.
