The time, has come. The journey has reached the point, when UVReactor, one of the fastest UV Editor, goes live! I have spent more than 5 years with UVReactor while I there were so many conflicts that I don’t even start to list them. (you better just to believe me :) )

The journey started on 08.18.2019. Prior to that, I had made a few attempts with C#, but ultimately, it was on this date when the first files appeared on my hard drive. At that time, I didn’t have much experience with various technologies and frameworks, so I had to learn a lot as the journey began. OpenGL, AVX2, PHP, concurrent programming, 3ds Max SDK, QT framework, and much more were just a few things that helped me achieve the current form of UVReactor. Back then, I didn’t anticipate that UVR would become one of the fastest and not to mention the FIRST UV editor for 3ds Max that doesn’t require a modifier to edit your UVs.

After about 3 years of development, the BETA version emerged from my hands, which was already a significant success, generating thousands of downloads within a few weeks. Thanks to your help, I was able to resolve most of the issues and crashes in UVR, which was a crucial point in the development process. After that, it took me another 2 years to finish the two most important parts of the system.

The UV Packing Heuristics

This part of UVReactor took me many months of development. It is one of the most complex parts of the entire system. I have learned a lot from this, especially because it has involved a lot of different technologies, architectures, and frameworks as well.

The overlap-free flattening.

This was also a significant problem. Building these algorithms is an extremely complex task, often involving PhD-level math. I spent years searching for mathematical solutions that truly work until I finally found one. If you don’t mind, I won’t tell you which one, as this is one of the things that makes UVReactor truly special.

After all of these years, I would have never thought that I would be able to finish this project. As you can see below, the final touches are currently being made and I’m setting up the product page. I don’t want to spend more time on this for now since I know you have been waiting for it for a long time. So, I have decided to launch. I have to do it once, and I think this is the best time for it.
